mination. The test os eligibili ty, by examination, was appotnted by ahi os partiament, to be givento the Bithop of London and Dean of St. Paul's, and Dur approved physicians, besere the College

of Physicians was incorporaled; and the necessi tyos eXamination is expressty stated in the statutes of the college of the date 16 7 , the ear-liest that Ι have seen. It is there re obvious, that the college, stom their earliest eXistence, adopted the plan os examining every Candidate for admission, as to his competenCy aS a medicat praesitioner.
