The utility of this may be deduced stoin the frequentemployment in practice of the former compound of the fame name. This powder stands as in the former Pharmacopo ia, and differs materialty Dom the Pulvis e Scammonio compositus os P. L. 1745, whicti Was then intended to supply the place of the earl of Wamich's powdor, and consisted os a miXture of Φ paris scammouy and 3 paris of burni hartshorn.

THE consistence of pilis is best preserved by heeping thema8s in bladdors and occasionalty moistening it.
