Fe- males of Th. vulgaris have a depressed central division of their epigynes, and their spermathecat organ is visibi e , while CD of epigyne of Th. atratuS separates the LP-s frona each other and the spermathecat organ is hard ly visi hie. The epi- gynes of these two species usual ly become plugged after maling, and the charac ters mentioned above Caia be seen only after the remo val of this plug.
